Healing with Horses

Spend the day learning the foundations of safe, respectful horsemanship in a hands-on, supportive environment. Whether you're starting your journey with horses or looking to reconnect, this full-day workshop will give you the confidence and skills to handle horses from the ground with calmness and clarity.

Set on the whenua, surrounded by open space and good company, you'll be guided through the basics of understanding horse behaviour, handling with intention, and building a partnership based on trust, not force.

What you’ll learn:
- Reading horse body language and energy
- Approaching, catching, haltering, and leading
- Grooming and care essentials
- Safe zones, boundaries, and communication
- Connecting with your horse through feel and timing
- Introduction to tack and gear

What’s included:

  • Full-day guided workshop (approx. 9am – 3pm)

  • Trained horses provided (or bring your own by arrangement)

  • Tea, coffee, and light refreshments

  • Safety gear available on request

  • Certificate of participation

What to bring:

  • Covered boots or shoes

  • Comfortable clothing (rain or shine)

  • Lunch and water bottle

  • Open heart and willingness to learn

Who is this for?
Open to all levels, no experience needed. Adults and rangatahi 12+ welcome (under 16 must attend with a caregiver).
